October 13-14 will be Parent/Teacher conferences for 7th & 8th Grade students ONLY.  Parents are invited to come and visit with classroom teachers from 5:00 pm-7:00 p.m. at Cleveland.  Don't hesitate to call our school office for more information.

Over 30-plus Sixth graders have made their journey to Huntsville, AL for Space Camp on Sunday, Oct. 5.  They will return on Oct. 10.  Students, parents and staff will be able to track this trip on-line for daily updates, Space Camp 2008.  You can also view last year's Space Camp 2007 here.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Wall, Aerospace Coordinator.

Welcome Ron Caswell, NASA engineer to the International Space Station. An assembly was held at 1:35 pm on Friday, Sept. 12.
is Sept. 8-12.  Our special guests includes Pilot Lt. Col. Jill Long,  Retired astronaut "Digger" Duane Carey, and NASA engineer, Ron Caswell.  A school parade is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11 <Cancelled>.  Make sure to check back often for updates to this web site.

 


For this school year, Cleveland merged with Farnsworth Aerospace to form a new PreK-8 school.  We integrated aerospace and aviation to our curriculum.  The fifth and sixth grade classes moved from Farnsworth and are housed at the Cleveland site.  Additional classes have been added to foster rigor and high standards for students.  Examples of these classes includes: Web Design, Aerospace

After School Club (ASC) or ALC Extended Day Program
Monday - Thursday
3:45 - 5:45 PM
Starts October 6
Grades 5 - 8

The ASC is open to all students attending Aersospace at Cleveland.  Students will have one hour of academic time where they work on school assignments.  The other hour will be used on various enrichments such as Lego Robotics, Chess Club, YMCA-sports, Hip Hop Dance, etc.  Make sure to sign up!

An Achievement Plus School
We are the only junior high school in Saint Paul participating in Achievement Plus, a unique public-private partnership to raise student academic achievement.  Achievement Plus brings strengths and resources to our school in the areas of academics, extended learning programs, and student and family supports.  Read more about Achievement Plus

After School Club
An extensive After School Program is in place.  Students have an opportunity to stay after school four days a week to study and participate in a variety of activities.  This program is currently funded through the Pathways to Progress 21st Century Grant in collaboration with: SPPS Community Education, 3M, Hmong American Partnership, Eastside YMCA and the Eastside Arts Council.

Schools/Healthy Students

Cleveland has additional services via the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Grant.  This grant has provided great opportunities for students that would not be readily available through the school.  The program has staff from the following Saint Paul programs:
Saint Paul Schools, Wilder Foundation, Saint Paul Youth Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Ramsey County Project Assist.
