| Maud Squad |  |  | | Mr. Poppe's and Ms. Tracy's homerooms celebrate their hard work. | Several students joined the "Maud Squad", which is our name for the Minnesota Youth Reads Award in honor of author Maud Hart Lovelace. Every year twelve books are nominated. Students who read at least three of the twelve by the end of March participated in the state wide vote. This year Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan  | | Cleveland's favorite Maud Squad books, pictured with the homeroom trophy, are Emako Blue and The Red Kayak. | Sonnenblick won the award. Cleveland had a tie for its favorite books, which were Emako Blue by Brenda Woods and Red Kayak by Priscilla Cummings As an added incentive, Cleveland's homerooms were paired up for a special competition: the homerooms that read the most Maud Squad books by April 9 won a fancy breakfast served by the  | | Teens across Minnesota chose Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick for the state award. | fabulous Principal Jill Gebeke and the rest of her team.
