Cleveland Quality Middle School is pleased to announce a unique opportunity to this year's seventh graders. We are proud to offer an enriching overnight field trip to Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, located approximately two hours south near Lanesboro, Minnesota, on March 17, 18, and 19.
Our purpose for this adventure in outdoor education is to provide our students the opportunity to experience team building, physical activity, wildlife, cultural history, and forestry in wooded setting. Throughout the three day trip, students will be teamed in groups of ten to fifteen, each with a Cleveland staff member as a chaperone. We have indicated our choices for classes at Eagle Bluff, and each group will have the opportunity to take four of the following classes while at camp:
- Team building on the sky walk ropes course or through group challenges
- Orienteering skills through map and compass reading
- Study of wildlife habitat and signs, like those of reptiles, amphibians, and insects
- Outdoor survival skills
- Native American culture
- Lessons in forestry succession
- Rock climbing adventures
The Cleveland staff is excited to bring this opportunity to our seventh graders for the low cost of only fifteen dollars per student. The remaining cost will be subsidized through school funding.
