ACHIEVEMENT PLUS
ACADEMICS
As part of Saint Paul Project for Academic Excellence, Cleveland uses a proven, standards-based curriculum.  Teachers receive regular professional development in topics such as helping students learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

EXTENDED LEARNING PROGRAMS
Cleveland offers after-school programs, called Extended Learning, at no cost to parents.  Our goal is to strengthen what students learn during their school day and to increase academic achievement with a particular focus on math and English.  In addition to supporting academics, Extended Learning provides a host of enrichment and recreational activities that provide a safe environment for students after school.

STUDENT AND FAMILY SUPPORT
To give all students the opportunity to achieve, Cleveland provides many learning supports for students and their families:
  • Family Resources.  The Eastside Family Center welcomes families to Cleveland, helps involve them in their children's education, and connects them to community resources for housing, food, clothing, and employment.

  • Health and Wellness Services.  Cleveland families can access medical and dental services at nearby John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary.  Services are provided by Achievement Plus partners such as
St. Mary's Clinic and Children's Dental Services.

  • Mental Health Services.  A partnership with the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation allows Cleveland to provide counseling and social-skills groups to help students deal with issues such as depression and anger management.
