Snacks were served and Lots of great prizes were given out!

Our first Early Release Day is this Wednesday, Sept. 30.  Please make arrangements to pick up your child at the correct location.  The 5-8 site will be dismissed at 1:35 pm and the PreK-4 will be dismissed at 1:45 pm.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to call the office.

Retired astronaut, Duane "Digger" Carey will visit our school this coming Monday, September 14th.  He will be here on a very tight schedule.  Parents and the community are encouraged to come attend the school assemblies below:

visited on May 1, 2009.  We held two assemblies in her honor.  Heide is a hometown hero from St. Paul. On STS-126, Heide completed her second mission to the ISS where she carried a Farnsworth Tshirt with the names of every student and staff from the 2007-2008 school year to space with her.  Heide presented this Tshirt back to our school during the assembly.

Our school Drill Team performed at the Rosedale Mall as part of Global Youth Service Day this past Saturday, April 25th.  Senator Amy Klobuchar was also there to cheer them on.  Thank you parents for your support!!

Ms. Lovestrand and Mr. Divita chaperoned some 5th and 6th grade students to the Future Problem Solvers State Bowl on April 18th at Roseville High School.  The future scene involved Counterfeit Economies.  We will soon know the results.

Congratulations to Si P. for placing second at the Jr. High Singles Badminton Championship

Staff and students will re-vote on the school name change on, Tuesday, May 12.  Parents were sent a ballot with their child to re-vote last week.

Thank you, retired astronaut Dr. Bernard Harris, for visiting Farnsworth/Cleveland Aerospace on Tuesday, April 7th.  Your presentation inspired all of us to dream bigger dreams!!  Find out more about Dr. Harris and his Dream Tour.

Science Fair went well for grades 5-8 students!  Students presented in both the school gym and auditorium at the Cleveland site.  The judges were impressed with many of the students work.  Congratulations to ribbon winners.  Thanks to the hard work of everyone to make this science fair a success!!

NASA video conferencing will be held in room 1308 for the 5th and 6th grade students on March 23-24th.  Sixth grade students researched and designed a spacecraft for a "Mission to Mars".  The fifth graders worked on "Return to the Moon", designing a settlement on the Moon.


Ramsey County Commissioner, Jim McDonough, recognized Dr. Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Wall, and the rest of the staff during the February 23 site council meeting at Farnsworth.  A Proclamation was presented as well.

7th Grade Extended Learning Opportunity-WASHINGTON, DC
Dates: March 27-April 3 (Spring Break)
Approximately 40 students, parents and staff left on March 27th for Washington, DC.  They had a wonderful trip and returned safely on April 3rd.  Follow the trip by viewing the pictures below.

Congratulations to Michael Neuman, an 8th grade student, for winning the school's Spelling Bee!!  He will represent Cleveland at the city wide meet on Feb. 21st.  Michael will be joined by runner-up Onesimo L. and Devin P. who is the alternate.  Good luck guys and well done.  Read More at Fox 9 News.

Thank you Mrs. Hoover, the NASA Explorer Schools Coordinator, for coming to visit our school on March 16-17.  The students enjoyed your presentations and mini-lessons.

The deadline to apply for the Cleveland campus, 5-8th Grade was February 27, 2009.  Elementary school application deadline was March 6, 2009.  Please call the placement office if you've missed the deadline.

The Boys wrestling season came to a close this past weekend at the Junior High Wrestling Tourney held at Highland Park.  Individual results are posted.  Congratulations to Kujai (Kevin) Xiong for capturing the 110 lbs individual Championship crown.  Cody Chapman was runner-up at 80 lbs.  The team placed fourth with 51.5 points

Thank you Hmong Parents, staff and Title I for making the Hmong New Year at the Cleveland-South campus a success.  A wonderful program was planned with performance that included traditional Hmong instruments and dances as well as modern dances that featured break dancing.

Parents, students and staff traveled to Floriday for the STS-126 shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center on November 13-18.  The space launch  was on Nov. 14 at 6:55 pm.  We watched the launch of Space Shuttle Endeavor with Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper.  Look at the image galleries below.
