The 2008-09 school year promises to be new and challenging as Cleveland becomes an aerospace school. Our expansion kick-off week is Sept. 8-12. A school parade is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11. Make sure to check back often for updates to this web site.
Over 60 staff members from both the Cleveland and Farnsworth schools participated in the three-day "Team Building Through An Aerospace Lens" staff development at the University of St. Thomas. Jill Wall, Aerospace Coordinator, had guest speakers that shared information about aerospace and aviation, field trips to the U of M and Holman Field and prizes for all the participants. We all learned a lot! View pictures below...
Cleveland Aerospace School offers all the opportunities of a large school in an intimate small-school setting. At Cleveland, teachers truly get to know their students in a caring environment that promotes achievement and celebrates diversity. For this school year, Cleveland merged with Farnsworth Aerospace to form a new PreK-8 school. We will integrate aerospace and aviation to our curriculum. | | Winner of the 2008 Flint Hills International Children’s Festival ARTcontest. | Please help us by providing feedback through the surveys below and feel free to stop by for a quick visit.
Congratulations to Sumya Naing who won first place in the 2008 Flint Hills International Children’s Festival ARTcontest. Artwork incorporated the artist’s interpretation of the theme, MY MINNESOTA: a creative state of mind. This year’s theme is in celebration of the Minnesota sesquicentennial, 150 years of statehood. Young artists were encouraged to explore their own lives as Minnesotans.

A big thank you to Jesse Jahnke and Zong Vang with Get Ready for planning Career Day and making it run so smoothly. We were thrilled to have 100% of our 50+ volunteers show up today. There was a spectacular performance from the 3M orchestra to start the day. Every classroom had 3 career speakers and a visit from a US bank representative to speak with them about finances. Our Career Speakers came from a wide variety of professions. We heard such encouraging comments from several staff and kids. Volunteers mentioned to me how impressed they were with the kids' good behavior and thoughtful questions. Read more
