The Visual Arts Department has a new teacher this school year. Mrs. Bussjaeger has been a long time art teacher at Farnsworth and is now teaching at Cleveland Aerospace. This school
year, the art department is offering the following classes: Art 1 and Art
2. Other classes are being worked to meet the needs of our students.
General Art Course Objectives
-Define, recognize, and use the elements of art
-Define, recognize, and use the principles of design
-Recognize, distinguish, and appreciate art and cultural influences of differing cultures and historical periods.
- Strengthen perceptual awareness and cognitive skills through sensory experiences.
- Analyze, compare, interpret, and evaluate art of self, other students, and major artists.
- Communicate feelings and ideas through creative visual expression.
- Develop skills in producing visual art in a wide variety of media and techniques.
- Exhibit proficiency in terminology and techniques related to areas of art study.
- Explore careers in the field of art.
- Develop skills in the care and safe use of supplies and equipment.
