World Languages
Spanish is the world language offered at Cleveland.  Two levels are offered in each language.  The level I students learn basic skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.  Topics include colors, numbers, greetings, salutations, family and school activities.  Students learn basic grammar, sentence structure, gender of nouns, and adjective agreement.  Students explore the culture, history and geography of the countries where the language is spoken.  Level II students continue to increase their proficiency in the language by learning more vocabulary and verb tenses.

Level I class sizes are from 30-38 students.

Level II class sizes are from 9-25 students.

Students’ learning is reinforced by using a variety of techniques, which include songs, videos, games, tapes by native speakers, and textbook and workbook assignments.

Extra curriculum activities may include field trip to the Festival of Nations, a weekend at Concordia Language Camp, and various language competitions.
